What is it? It is the Temple of Neptune, a GREEK temple. When we think of Italy, we think of Romans. In fact, Greeks inhabited southern Italy as early as 753 BC. This temple in Paestum, Italy, was built around the same time as the Parthenon in Athens, 450 BC.
The Temple of Neptune is one of three Greek temples found in Paestum--truly a unique part of Italy.
