On our first morning in Quebec City, hubs and I decided to skip the hotel breakfast and ended up at Le Cochon Dingue, a darling little bistro with a delicious breakfast menu. Our uber-friendly (as all Canadians seem to be!) waitress stopped by to see if we wanted coffee. Of course, we did. And, since this was a French bistro, I ordered my favorite, Cafe au Lait (coffee with milk). Before you know it, a steaming cup of coffee was placed in front of hubs and a cereal bowl of coffee with milk was placed before me.
At first, i thought I had just received a very large coffee cup. That is, until I could not find a handle. I wasn't quite sure how to manage the thing. Then, I saw others cupping their bowl with both hands and sipping the drink like normal.
Voila! Coffee in a bowl. I found it the popular choice of locals and tourists throughout all of Quebec.
