For a small town, Bayeux has no shortage of great restaurants. Here are two that top my list:
La Rapiere - With an old-world feel, attentive (but not stuffy) service, and a delicious gourmet menu at affordable prices (for the area), this restaurant is absolutely my favorite! Our server happily shared the area's after-dinner drink specialty, calvados (apple brandy), with us. Let's just say, that was the only time we had calvados!
Le Pommier - As the name might suggest (pommier is 'apple' in French), apple is the predominant theme in the menu -- at least it did when I visited. For a taste of traditional Normand dishes, this is the place to be. A little more expensive than La Rapiere, and the service is a little more 'French' (a.k.a, stiff), but all in all, a great meal!
